I am saying goodbye to Church Street Dental Practice. I have had the pleasure of working in the same place for 46 years, and have some wonderful memories of patients and work colleagues. I started on the 15/08/1977 to train as a Dental Nurse and work with Mr David Brownlie who was a true gentleman and a great boss. When Mr Brownlie retired, I was given the opportunity to do a Dental Practice Managers Course and was given the step-up. There were 3 dentists when I started and we now have 5 dentists and a hygienist. I have seen a lot of changes in Dentistry over the years and not forgetting the problems Covid brought. I trust that the practice has done its best by our patients over that period.
As Dentists and staff look forward to the next chapter at Church Street Dental Practice, it is now time for me to hang up my scrubs and retire. I wish everyone, patients and work colleagues all the best for the future. I will miss everything about my time at 10 Church Street especially the staff. Thanks for the support and laughs along the way, good and bad.
Kind Regards to all
Kay

It has been a while since we last posted. Things are returning slowly to pre-pandemic levels but not normal as before. We still have restrictions in the dental practice setting, patients are still required to wear masks and hand sanitise.
From July the dentists will be in more days and we will be contacting patients to arrange examinations. We will do this in a methodical way and start with patients who have been waiting the longest. This is going to be a mammoth task and we ask that you wait to be contacted. With this in mind, appointments might be a long way in the future with the possibility that it could be as long as 8 weeks after contact.
The Practice opening hours from July will be :
Monday 8.30-12.30 1.15-5.30
Tuesday 8.30-12.30 1.15-5.30
Wednesday 8.30-12.30 1.15-5.15
Thursday 8.30-12.30 1.15-5.15
Friday 8.00 - 12.30
The practice telephone number is 01389 763027

PLEASE NOTE: from 6pm any evening, weekends or public holidays if you are in pain, have a facial swelling or bleeding please call NHS on 111

As we have moved into level Zero in terms of the Scottish Government Coronavirus Protection level. (19/07/21).
This does not however mean that dental services are back to business as usual from that date.
While we see a number of restrictions eased in terms of social interactions, healthcare including dentistry, continues to operate under very strict virus transmission protocols which are essential to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. The consequence of this is that we will still only be able to see a sigificantly lower number of patients per day in order to keep everyone safe.
We will continue to use our professional judgement to prioritise patients according to our knowledge of the particular clinical situation to ensure that patients are see in a timely manner. If you are experiencing pain that will continue to be our priority and you should contact us for advice and care as appropriate.
Unfortunately, like the majority of Dental Practices we are still unable to return to routine examinations for all patients at the moment.
Please be assured that we, as your dental team are doing our best to see as many patients as possible under very diffcult conditions and we would ask that you have patience as we strive to deal with those most in need first.
