I am thrilled to have completed the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, and I am incredibly proud of myself and Alanna for achieving our personal best times. I was able to shave 17 minutes off my time from 15 years ago, finishing in 4 hours, 17 minutes, and 5 seconds. The hard work has truly paid off and no blisters.😀
Running through Paris was an unforgettable experience, with breathtaking scenery around every corner and electric crowds cheering us on. It was wonderful to have Gavin, Jack, and Alanna's friends from school surprise her with their support, as well as the encouragement from my friends and family who tracked my progress and sent messages. 👏👏
For anyone considering running a marathon, I highly recommend adding Paris to your bucket list. After experiencing the beauty of Paris, I may consider running another city, perhaps a half-marathon next time.
My father-in-law, Fred, would have been proud of us for completing this challenge, and I am proud to have shared this experience with Alanna. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who has donated to the Parkinson's charity; your generosity has truly blown me away. I will keep you updated on the final total.
