✨ Chipped, gappy or uneven teeth? Composite bonding could be the simple fix you’ve been looking for.

Composite bonding uses a tooth-coloured resin, carefully shaped and polished by hand, to improve the look of your natural teeth. It’s one of the most popular ways to refresh a smile, and here’s why:

🦷 Usually little or no drilling of your natural teeth
⏱️ Completed in a limited or single visits
🎨 Colour-matched to blend in with your smile
😁 Repairs chips, closes small gaps and evens out edges
💷 A more affordable option than veneers for many patients

Every smile is different, which is why we always start with a proper consultation to make sure bonding is right for you.

Curious? Find out more about composite bonding at Darren Bywater Dental Care.

✨ This is what a few appointments with Dr Sunny Thind can do.

Smile transformations rarely come down to one treatment. Most of the results we're proudest of are a combination, planned in the right order:

🦷 Gum health sorted first, because nothing lasts on unhealthy foundations
🦷 Any decay or damaged teeth restored
🦷 Alignment addressed where it's needed, often with clear aligners
🦷 Whitening before any cosmetic work, so new restorations are matched to your brightest shade
🦷 Composite bonding or veneers to finish

Every stage happens here in Allestree with the same team, so nothing gets lost between practices and nobody has to be referred elsewhere.

If you've been thinking about it for a while, September's a good month to start. Book a consultation and we'll map out what's actually involved for you, with clear pricing before anything begins.

🤔 Composite bonding or veneers? It's the question we get asked most, so here's the honest answer.

Composite bonding
✅ Usually little to no enamel removal
✅ Often done in one appointment
✅ Additive and often reversible
⚠️ Can pick up staining over time from coffee, tea, red w**e and smoking

Porcelain veneers
✅ More stain-resistant
✅ Longer lasting
⚠️ A thin layer of enamel is removed, so it's a permanent change

They're both suited to different teeth, different budgets and different goals, and sometimes the right answer is a bit of both.

The only way to know which fits your smile is a proper look and an honest conversation. That's exactly what a consultation with us is for, and you'll leave with a written plan and a clear price.

🔬 Let's clear something up about root canal treatment.

Root canal treatment is what stops the pain, it isn't the cause of it. The discomfort people remember is almost always the infection they arrived with.

What actually happens:
1️⃣ We numb the tooth thoroughly before starting
2️⃣ The infected tissue inside the tooth is carefully removed
3️⃣ The canals are cleaned, shaped and sealed
4️⃣ A crown or filling restores the tooth so you can use it normally again

Why come to us for it:
✅ A referral centre for endodontics across the East Midlands
✅ Treatment carried out under dental microscopes for precision
✅ CBCT scanning where a clearer 3D picture is needed
✅ Clinicians with a specialist interest in endodontics, including Dr Alison Warneken and Dr Sunny Thind

If you're nervous, tell us. We'll talk you through every step first and go at your pace.

🔧 Cracked a tooth? Lost a filling? Ground your teeth down over the years?

That's restorative dentistry, and it's one of the things we do best.

Restorative work is about keeping your own teeth for as long as possible, rebuilding what's damaged rather than replacing it. Depending on what's going on, that might mean:

🦷 A composite or ceramic filling
🦷 An inlay or onlay, where a partial restoration saves more of the tooth
🦷 Root canal treatment, then a crown to protect the tooth afterwards
🦷 A wider rebuild if wear or grinding has affected several teeth

Dr Sunny Thind leads much of our restorative work and has a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics.

The earlier a damaged tooth is looked at, the more of it we can usually save. If something's been niggling for a while, let's take a look.

🦷 Missing a tooth and quietly putting off doing something about it?

A dental implant replaces the root of the tooth, not just the part you can see. That's what makes it the closest thing to a natural tooth currently available.

What that means for you:
✅ It looks, feels and functions like your own tooth
✅ It helps preserve the jawbone and prevent bone loss
✅ Neighbouring teeth are left untouched
✅ Nothing to take out at night
✅ With good care, implants can last decades

We're a key referral centre for implant dentistry across the East Midlands. Everything happens here in Allestree with the same team throughout.

Not sure whether you're suitable? Book a free consultation with our dental implant specialist Dr Darren Bywater.
