Our little ones can find the dentist overwhelming. Three tips to help your child get the most out of their sedation visit:
1. Keep the conversation calm and positive
Try not to use words like βneedleβ, βpainβ, or βhurtβ. Simple phrases like βthe dentist is going to help your tooth feel betterβ can work really well.
2. Bring comfort from home
A favourite teddy, blanket, or small toy can make the appointment feel more familiar and reassuring.
3. Let them know they are still in control
Reassure your child that they can raise their hand if they need a little break. Feeling heard can make a huge difference.
If your child needs a little bit more support at the dentist, send us a message. We'd love to help π
