31 Hungerford Road became known as The Old Surgery during its 120 years as a medical practice. It was re-opened as a dental practi

ce by Steve Lomas in February 1998. Over the years the practice has grown from just one surgery to six modern, air conditioned surgeries, with Richard Willis joining the practice in August 2000 as a partner. During this time we have kept a stable dentist base to provide our patients with a long-term relationship and continuity of care with their dentist. Since 1999, Steve Lomas and Richard Willis have been approved to mentor and train new graduates, with both of them proving to be successful trainers. We were the first practice in Crewe to achieve the BDA Good Practice Award in 2003, and in subsequent years. This award promotes and demonstrates our commitment to quality standards as set by the British Dental Association.

Some of us enjoyed a special occasion this week for Chloe, our Head Nurse's, Baby Shower. Chloe will be putting her feet up in a couple of weeks to go on maternity leave. We cant wait to meet Baby Smith #2, a baby brother or sister for Hugo! Lots of love from all at OSDP ###xx

Steve tried hard to keep things low-key,
“No fuss please!” he says quietly.
But birthdays sneak up, as birthdays do…
So here’s a little rhyme from all of us to you!

A dentist by day with a calming grin,
Fixing the teeth as the day begins.
A top-notch boss, patient and fair,
Always bringing good humour everywhere.

With lovely Di right by your side,
And Nico and Winnie along for the ride,
We hope your birthday is lovely and fun —
(Probably louder when the rugby’s on!)

You love a good gig and a singalong tune,
Still throwing some shapes round the room.
Though age doesn’t bother you — that much is true —
It’s just all the attention that’s painful for you!

So here’s to Steve, our boss, our mate,
Who hoped these wishes might come a day late. (or never)
But sorry, Steve — there’s no escape today…
