🦷✨ Thea’s First Dental Visit! ✨🦷

Today, we had a very special little patient in the practice - Thea, our Manager Aimee’s daughter! 💕 And she was an absolute superstar for her very first dental visit. 🥰

👶 When should your child first see the dentist?
We recommend bringing your child for their first dental visit when their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday, whichever comes first. Early visits help us spot any potential concerns and, just as importantly, help your child become familiar and comfortable with the dental environment from a young age.

🪥 What can parents do at home?
From the moment that first tooth appears:
• Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste appropriate for your child’s age.
• Use a small, soft-bristled toothbrush designed for babies and young children.
• Encourage your child to spit out the toothpaste after brushing, rather than rinsing.
• Parents should help with brushing - little hands need a little help to clean every surface properly!
• Keep sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes where possible, and avoid sugary drinks in bottles or cups between meals.
• Water and milk are the best choices between meals.

🌟 Why start early?
Baby teeth are important! They help children eat, speak and smile, while also helping to guide adult teeth into position. Starting good habits early can help prevent tooth decay and make dental visits a positive part of growing up.

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of Angela at MDC! 🎉

Last week marked an incredible milestone as our wonderful Head Receptionist, Angela, celebrated 25 years with MDC! 💙

When Angela first joined the practice, she had no experience in dentistry, having previously managed a bookshop. She embraced a brand new career with enthusiasm, starting out by nursing alongside Marilyn while studying for her dental nursing qualification. She’s even kindly shared a photo of her first week of work, she hasn’t changed at all! 🥰

Back then, MDC was a much smaller practice with just two surgeries. Over the past 25 years, Angela has witnessed, and helped shape, the incredible growth and transformation of the practice into what it is today.

From welcoming generations of patients with her friendly smile to supporting countless colleagues over the years, Angela has been at the heart of MDC every step of the way. Her dedication, knowledge, kindness, and commitment have made a lasting impact on both our team and our patients.
