🚧 A29 Roadworks – Patient Notice

Roadworks on the A29 will be in place for a number of weeks and may affect the route you take to reach the practice.

A daytime diversion will operate Monday–Friday, 9:30am–4:30pm, mainly affecting patients travelling from the Dungannon direction. During these hours, access to the practice will be from the roundabout side only. There will be diversions via the Annagh Road -> Sandholes Road -> Roundabout

We are open as normal throughout the works.
Please allow a little extra time for your journey, and contact us if you need help with directions.

Due to the red weather warning for tomorrow (Friday 24th January) we have decided to close the practice. Patient and staff safety is our priority in this situation and we will resume normal opening hours on Monday 27th January at 9am. DENTAL NURSE / TRAINEE DENTAL NURSE POSITION:

We are seeking an individual with a passion for dental nursing to join our enthusiastic dental team. We are looking for someone who has a focus on delivering a high standard in all areas of their work, with a willingness to learn and develop. Experience is not essential as training will be provided. As part of your role as dental nurse you will be required to provide clinical support to dentists and maintain the stringent practice procedures relating to decontamination and cross infection control. At Loughry Dental we provide a wide range of NHS and private treatments (including orthodontics, facial aesthetics, and oral surgery) - the successful applicant will enjoy a varied working environment with opportunities to further develop their skills and qualifications. The practice is also currently involved in a paedatric research trial in association with Queens University Belfast and University of Liverpool, and there will be an opportunity for the application to get involved in this trial and gain further skills.

The hours of business are Monday to Friday with no weekends or late evenings. There is also free onsite parking and a restaurant/coffee shop next door.

Job Type: PERMANENT
Job Hours: PART-TIME/FULL-TIME

Salary: £8.60 - £16.50 per hour (depending on existing qualifications/experience)

I would firstly like to thank everyone who has been at the practice and has donated to Action Cancer. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and are sincerely grateful for your donations. I lost my father suddenly to pancreatic cancer last year, and unfortunately I am not alone in the loss of loved ones due to cancer.

I am taking part in the Belfast City Marathon relay on Sunday along with some friends to raise money for Action Cancer to help support this charity in the hope that we have a future where cancer risk is reduced, cancers are detected early and are successfully treated.

Action Cancer is a Northern Ireland charity dedicated to saving lives and supporting people through cancer awareness, prevention, detection and support.

It is with deep sadness that I have to announce the sudden death of my dad Bobby this morning.

There will be reduced availability of appointments this week and the practice will be closed on Friday 23rd July.

Funeral service in Derryloran Parish Church on Friday 23rd July at 2.00pm, followed by interment in Cookstown Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to P.S.P. Association, c/o Steenson Funeral Services, 11 Loy Street, Cookstown, BT80 8PZ.

Will be lovingly remembered by the whole family circle.

Dental practices are still under Covid-19 restrictions and we are doing our best to see all our patients as quickly as possible. We are booking up further into the future than usual. We are extremely grateful for your understanding and patience, and we hope that as things improve we will return to some sort of normality.

We are starting an additional dentist in September which will further help to reduce delays in getting an appointment.

To ensure the safety of our staff, patients and families, we are following the latest CV-19 guidelines issued by the HSCB. We are no longer permitted to carry out any aerosol generating procedures, effective immediately. This means we cannot use our drills, without exception.

We are still open, and will be providing advice and limited treatments, for urgent and emergency dental problems, with the following symptoms:

— Severe Pain
— Swelling (indicating an infection)
— Dental Trauma
— Continuous Bleeding

It is essential that you ring the practice prior to attending.
