UPDATE!!
The Public Health Agency has given us new advice, which could affect you or your children please read below for more info.

If your child is under the age of 18 and is not fully vaccinated, and has been in close contact with a positive COVID case, although they may be allowed to attend school with their negative PCR tests, we have been advised that they do not attend their dental appointments. Please call the surgery on 028 7034 2393 to rearrange appointments.

As things gradually begin to open back up around us, dentistry is still working under the same restrictions which were put in place last summer

It will be some time yet before we are operating anywhere near our previous norm 😔

All of the Townhouse team would like to thank our patients for their understanding and patience over the past 12 weeks. Like you, we just want things to get back to normal as soon as possible.
Unfortunately routine appointments are still not available but we will keep you updated as soon as we are given the green light. Whenever it may be, your next visit to us will be quite different - this is how we will have to operate over the coming weeks so that we can keep everyone safe. We would appreciate your help in this by following the protocol below.

1. We will be operating a locked-door policy with social distancing keeping 2m apart until in surgery. Please do not come to the practice if you do not have an appointment.

2. The staff will triage you by telephone regarding your dental problem and to check your COVID-19 status before making your appointment.
Please come to your appointment alone and bring only essential belongings.
Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with someone who has been ill in the last 14 days.

3. Our bathroom facilities are closed to patients during COVID-19 due to cross-infection risk, so please use your own toilet before attending the practice.

4. Do not turn up too early for your appointment. When you are outside, please phone the practice and we will advise you when to come in and we will open the door for you.

5. On arrival you will be asked to use the hand sanitiser - please do not wear gloves.

6. You will be shown directly into the surgery where you may have to wait a few minutes. There is a plastic box in the surgery to place your essential personal belongings prior to treatment.

7. The Dentist and nurse will be wearing extra PPE, as per national guidelines, so please do not be alarmed - it’s still us underneath!
Please advise a child of this beforehand, to avoid unnecessary alarm.

8. After your appointment, you will be advised if you need to return to reception to arrange another appointment or make payment. Please be prepared to pay by card - contactless if possible. Otherwise, please make your way straight to the front door, using the hand sanitiser again before leaving. We’re not being rude, we’d love to chat, but the whole team have a lot to do, cleaning everything down to prepare for the next patient.

9. We understand that this is a lot of information. Please bear with us as we make preparations for a proper re-opening. Meanwhile, stay safe 🌈 and look after yourselves.

Finally we have some good news to pass on, as we move a little closer to being able to see you all again.
We are still not allowed to re-open for routine dentistry, but will be carrying out face-to-face assessment of any of our patients who require urgent dental attention. We are still prevented from doing aerosol-generating procedures (basically, anything with a drill) in the practice, but have a limited range of options open to us for keeping you comfortable until we can do more. As before, the five Urgent Dental Care facilities will remain operational to carry out procedures that we are unable to offer on our premises.

Our Reception staff will continue to be present Monday - Friday from 9am-12pm to answer any questions that you may have. In case of severe dental problems, please call us on 028 7034 2393.
