🌟 International Children’s Day – A Day of Hope for Ellis 💖

Today, on International Children’s Day, we want to celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of an incredible little girl called Ellis.

At just 4 years old, Ellis has already faced more challenges than most of us could imagine. She has undergone three major heart surgeries, with her most recent operation taking place only two months ago. Despite everything she has been through, her smile continues to light up every room she enters.

Sadly, Ellis’s journey is not over. She now needs another life-changing operation to give her the chance of a more normal, active childhood. Unfortunately, the specialist procedure she requires is not available in the UK, meaning her family must raise funds to access treatment abroad.

That’s why the Optident Dental Clinic team proudly joined forces with the amazing Rise Up Together team to support a charity event dedicated to helping Ellis and her family. Seeing our community come together, sharing kindness, generosity, and hope, was truly inspiring.

Every child deserves the opportunity to run, play, laugh, and dream without limitations. This International Children’s Day, we celebrate Ellis’s bravery and the incredible community standing behind her every step of the way.

Has sipping on cool drinks or snacking on ice cream during the heatwave made you notice some sensitivity?

Don’t worry - we’re here to help you. Sensitivity is common and can be managed with regular hygiene visits, sensitive toothpaste, proper cleaning and treatment pastes that we offer here at the practice.

But, don’t forget, sensitivity can also be a sign of gum disease or tooth decay, so it’s always worth coming in to get it checked, for your peace of mind and ours

This May, we had two big milestones to celebrate for two amazing members of staff 🤍

Marwa, our brilliant dental therapist, hygienist & newly qualified Indian Head and Neck Masseuse, celebrated her third anniversary with us 🥹

Get hard work, creativity, and confidence she has helped bring to so many patients is truly invaluable.

Andreea, our fantastic dental nurse and Myobrace educator, marked five years with the practice d and continues to go above and beyond every day, making sure every patient, especially our Myobrace children, feel supported and cared for ✨

The bank holiday weekend has officially begun and what a scorcher it’s going to be 🤩

Remember, it’s okay to indulge in something sweet every now and then, but if you are going to be treating yourself this weekend, make sure you’re treating those teeth nicely too! ☀️

Mouthwash to stay fresh throughout the day, flossing at least once a day (ESPECIALLY if you’ve had a lot of sugar) and using toothpaste for sensitive teeth if you’re going to be having a cheeky ice cream 🍦

And, most importantly, drink lots of water! Your body, teeth, and gums will thank you 🤍
