If you’re travelling around these areas, please check your route and allow a little extra time — it might be worth setting off earlier than usual! ⏰☺️

Michaela came to see us because she was unhappy with the worn edges of her teeth and felt that her smile showed too much gum when she smiled.

After a full Digital Smile Design assessment, we created a comprehensive treatment plan that included several possible stages to achieve her ideal result.

But one of the most important parts of smile design is knowing when enough is enough.

We started with aligners to improve the position of the teeth, followed by whitening and composite bonding to restore shape and symmetry.

At every stage, we paused, reviewed the results and made sure Michaela was happy before moving forward.

A natural smile is designed in harmony with the whole face, not just the teeth.

We assess the curve of the lips, the position of the centre line and facial reference points such as the tear ducts to ensure the canines are positioned correctly. This creates true facial harmony.

When these principles are ignored, the result can quickly look unnatural.

To complete the design, we use libraries of naturally shaped teeth. When teeth are made too square or overly uniform, it can create an artificial appearance often referred to as a turkey teeth look.

Colour also plays a major role. If teeth are made whiter than what is naturally achievable, they will always stand out.
