1. Don’t skip your pre-holiday dental Check up
Christmas can get crazy busy, but squeezing in a dental check-up could save you from a dental disaster. Small issues like cavities or loose crowns can be dealt with now before they turn into full-blown emergencies.

2. Avoid crunching down on hard sweets
Yes, we know the temptation is real when it comes to quality street toffee, Toblerone and crackling. But biting into hard foods is one of the most common causes of broken teeth.

If you’re sporting dental implants, Invisalign aligners, or other dental work, treat them with extra care.

3. Brush up on holiday hygiene
With all the mulled wine, mince pies and chocolate, it’s easy to let oral hygiene slide. But sugary treats can weak havoc on your teeth. Keep your toothbrush nearby for morning and night and don’t forget to floss.

If you’re looking for a little extra sparkle this Christmas for those family photos, why not consider airflow polishing or teeth whitening. Who doesn’t love a reason to smile?

The celebration starts on the first Monday in June every year. It's a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the UK's incredible volunteers for all they contribute to local communities, the voluntary sector, and society as a whole.

Volunteers week was first established in 1984, by what was known as volunteering England. In June 2024 the campaign celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Meet The Team - Emily 🪥

Emily started working as a Dental nurse in 2022 and gained her dental nurse diploma in April 2024.

As well as dentistry, Emily has recently completed a mental health course in November 2024 which she uses to help support anxious and nervous patients. She is passionate about continuing her dental knowledge and hopes to expand her knowledge by undertaking additional dental nursing courses in the future.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys staying active at the gym and likes attending theatre performances.
