🪥 What your dentist wishes you knew about brushing...
Brushing your teeth isn't just about doing it twice a day, it's about how you do it. Here are four simple tips that can make a big difference to your oral health:
✨ Ease off the pressure
Brushing harder doesn't clean better. In fact, it can wear away enamel and damage your gums. Let your toothbrush do the work using gentle, circular motions.
🌙 The bedtime brush is the big one
If you only manage one brush (although we recommend two!), make it before bed. Brushing at night removes the day's plaque and food, and protects your teeth while you sleep when saliva production naturally decreases.
💦 Spit, don't rinse
After brushing, spit out the excess toothpaste but avoid rinsing with water. This allows the fluoride to stay on your teeth for longer, helping to strengthen enamel and protect against decay.
⏱️ Two minutes really matters
A quick 30 second brush isn't enough! Aim for a full two minutes to ensure every tooth gets the attention it needs. Set a timer or use an electric toothbrush with a built in timer to help.
Small changes to your brushing routine can have a huge impact on your smile. 😁
