A horse rearing inside a lorry or trailer is extremely dangerous.
When a horse rears in a confined, moving space they can:
β Hit their head or neck on the roof or bars
β Suffer serious spinal, neck, or head injuries
β Slip, fall backwards or forwards becoming trapped
β Panic and injure themselves, other horses, or handlers
These injuries can be life-changing or fatal.
Horses may rear due to fear, poor balance, pain, bad experiences, or unsuitable travel setup. Please take rearing seriously and donβt ignore warning signs.
