Myth: You need a big dollop of toothpaste, like you see in the adverts, to clean your teeth.
Fact: You only need a pea-sized amount to get a full deep clean.
Toothpaste adverts want to show off their product and a long curved swirl of gleaming paste looks oh so much more dramatic, clean and visually appealing on camera than a little pea-sized morsel. Plus they want you to use up the tube and buy a replacement sooner!
Children over 3 and adults only need a pea-sized amount to deliver enough active ingredients like fluoride, while the physical action of brushing does the rest. 🪥
Children under 3 only need a smear of paste. 👍
