Dr Somitra Banvir, or Som as pretty much everyone calls him, has been part of A1 Dental for well over a decade. First as an associate, then as principal dentist when he took over the practice in 2015.

One dark front tooth was ruining her entire smile. 🤔

It is exhausting hiding your teeth every time you laugh, so this patient came to us wanting a straighter, brighter, completely even look.

Before touching a thing, we used our 3D simulation to show her exactly how her finished smile would look. Then, we did nine months of Invisalign to align everything, gave her a professional whitening boost, and placed six custom porcelain veneers across the front to completely hide that dark tooth.

Did you know that Iced coffee stains your teeth more than hot coffee. ☕🫢

Hear us out though, because the science behind this one is actually really interesting.

When you drink hot coffee you tend to drink it quickly. Iced coffee? You sip it slowly over 20, 30, sometimes 45 minutes.

That means your teeth are being exposed to the staining compounds in coffee for a much longer period of time, giving the tannins far more opportunity to bind to your enamel and leave their mark.

Iced coffee is often mixed with syrups and sweeteners, the sugar sits on your teeth for longer too, accelerating the damage.

The fix? Drink through a straw to reduce contact with your teeth, rinse with water afterwards and wait 30 minutes before brushing.

We're back with another incredible case. 📐

This patient’s teeth were chipping because of a crossbite (where the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth). To fix their bite and prevent long-term damage, Dr Som used Invisalign to realign everything in just 10 months.

We topped it off with professional whitening and custom retainers to lock in the results.

Now, they can eat properly and smile without the constant worry of breaking their teeth.
