Do the inside of your cheeks, lips and tongue burn or sting when you brush your teeth, do you have canker sores and dry lips?

If so, It is possible that you may be allergic to SLS sodium lauryl sulfate which is a common ingredient found in off-the-shelf toothpaste.

SLS is also commonly found in shampoo, soaps, and household cleaning products. It is, generally, a safe ingredient, manufacturers of toothpaste use it because it creates foaming action when we brush our teeth.

The downside to SLS is that you may not know you are intolerant to this, and, as mentioned, it can cause a severe stinging or burning sensation. If the inside of your cheeks, lips and tongue burn or sting when you brush your teeth, you have canker sores and should consider switching to a toothpaste that is SLS-free.
