Perla Orthodontics is a new name for an established Orthodontics practice. We previously operated under the Orthoworld brand, but in 2017 we launched as Perla orthodontics, and are independently owned by our Principal Specialist Orthodontist, Florencia Espeche Arcorace. We provide orthodontic treatment to patients across Dundee, Tayside, Angus, Fife and beyond. We offer both NHS and private orthodontic treatment; helping people of all ages create smiles they can be proud of. We believe in a long-term approach when it comes to orthodontics; we want you to be proud of your smile for years and decades to come. We believe in giving our patients the information required to help them make the best decision for their teeth and their lives.

The good news is that extractions aren't necessary for every orthodontic treatment.
Whether they're recommended depends on your individual teeth, available space, bite and overall treatment needs. 🦷

The answer depends on several factors, including your individual teeth, bite and the type of treatment required.
Some treatment plans are relatively straightforward, while others require more time and careful planning.
That's why we believe in taking the time to understand your smile before discussing your treatment options. 🤍

If you're wearing fixed braces, it's possible for a bracket or wire to become loose during treatment.
The important thing is not to panic!
Avoid pulling or trying to repair the appliance yourself, and contact your orthodontic team for advice.
If a wire is causing irritation, orthodontic wax may help keep you comfortable until you're seen.

It's a question we're asked more often than you might think.
Orthodontic treatment isn't reserved for teenagers. Adults can also explore orthodontic treatment, although what's appropriate will depend on your individual teeth, gums, bite and treatment needs. 🦷

So rather than asking “Am I too old?”, a much better question might be:
“What could be possible for my smile?” ✨
