”‘Am I too old for Invisalign?’

It’s one of the most common questions I get.

The answer? No.

There isn’t an age limit for creating a smile you love.

In fact, many of my patients start their smile journey later in life. The planning can sometimes be a little more complex because older smiles often have existing fillings, worn teeth, gum recession or missing teeth BUT that’s exactly where experience and careful planning make all the difference. 🎨💪

This patient had Invisalign to align the teeth, professional whitening to brighten the smile, and carefully placed composite bonding to restore shape and close the black triangles that appeared after alignment. (Swipe to see how we closed them 👀)

What I love most about cases like this is that they don’t just create straighter teeth . . . they create a younger-looking smile.

We spend so much time and money looking after our skin or considering facial aesthetics, yet worn, crowded or discoloured teeth can be one of the biggest contributors to an aged appearance. Restoring a smile can soften the whole face and give back confidence in a way that’s difficult to describe until you experience it.

✨ A smile transformation is about so much more than straight teeth.

When this patient first came to see me, they were unhappy with their hidden front tooth and the appearance of their smile.

Rather than rushing into treatment, we took a step-by-step approach to create a result that looks natural and will stand the test of time.

🦷 First, Invisalign was used to straighten the teeth, improve the bite, and create the ideal foundation for the final smile.

✨ Next, Boutique Whitening was carried out gradually throughout treatment to brighten the teeth and create a beautiful, bright shade.

🎨 Finally, composite bonding was used to refine the shape and proportions of the teeth, giving the finishing touches to the smile.

The result?

✔️ Straighter teeth
✔️ A healthier bite
✔️ A brighter smile
✔️ Natural-looking results with minimal intervention

My favourite part of cases like this is seeing the confidence patients gain along the way. The final smile is wonderful, but watching someone start to smile without covering their mouth is even better.
