EPA (European Prosthodontic Association)

EPA (European Prosthodontic Association) The European Prosthodontic Association (EPA) was formed in 1976 by a group of European Prosthodontists in Cambridge.

The first EPA conference was held in 1977 in London. The EPA welcomes to its membership anyone with an interest in Prosthodontics. At present we have members from 50 countries all over the world, with a membership of over 700 members.

What if prosthodontics alone is not enough to achieve true aesthetic outcomes?

We are delighted to welcome Prof. René Foltán as a speaker at EPA 2026.

In his lecture, he will explore how digital technologies and orthognathic surgery come together to push the boundaries of comprehensive aesthetic dental rehabilitation.

This session will demonstrate how 3D planning, precise craniofacial measurements, and surgical repositioning can redefine what is possible especially in patients where conventional prosthetic approaches reach their limits.

From occlusal plane correction to complex skeletal adjustments, discover how digital workflows enable a higher level of precision and aesthetic predictability.

A compelling perspective at the intersection of surgery, prosthodontics, and digital innovation.

Are we doing enough to care for our most vulnerable patients as they age?

At EPA 2026, Prof. Joke Duyck will address one of the most pressing challenges in modern dentistry: preventive and follow-up care in frail elderly patients.

Her lecture will explore how clinical guidelines, long-term maintenance, and interdisciplinary care must adapt to patients with increasing medical, functional, and psychosocial complexity.

Beyond treatment itself, the focus shifts to continuity of care including how systems and care structures can support effective follow-up, particularly in residential care settings.

A highly relevant session for clinicians navigating the realities of ageing populations.

Are protocols enough or do great outcomes depend on clinical judgement?

At EPA 2026, Dr. Andre Chen will explore the shift from protocol-based workflows to principle-driven decision-making in contemporary implant-supported prosthodontics.

Through real clinical cases, this session will highlight how key decisions from implant positioning to prosthetic design and soft tissue management directly impact long-term stability and maintenance.

Understand where digital workflows enhance precision… and where critical thinking must take over.

A practical, experience-based perspective for clinicians managing increasing treatment complexity.
