🇵🇪❤️ Grateful to be in Peru volunteering alongside an incredible team, providing free dental care to patients who have been living with pain, many of them children. From extractions to urgent treatment, every patient reminds me why I chose dentistry. To relieve pain, restore health, and make a difference where it’s needed most. 🦷✨

A truly humbling experience that I’ll carry with me long after this trip.

Treating around 150 patients a day at the moment, mostly children.🦷

A lot of them are coming in with badly decayed teeth, infections and pain that they’ve been living with for far too long.

One team is visiting schools in nearby villages to provide oral health education and triage children who need treatment. The teachers have told us that some of these kids are in pain every day.

It’s pretty shocking to see the scale of it, and honestly quite sad. But we’re doing what we can, treating the urgent cases and trying to reach as many children as possible.

Providing dental care in Peru has come with its challenges — from working at high altitudes to limited resources and long days — but every challenge is worth it when we can help bring care and smiles to underprivileged communities. 🇵🇪🦷❤️ Grateful to be part of work that goes beyond dentistry and makes a real difference.

Day 1 of Peru trip ✈️
Stopped off in Bogotá, Colombia, on the way and somehow ended up experiencing a 7.4 magnitude earthquake 😳 Definitely not how I expected the trip to start!

Thankfully everyone is safe, and now it’s onwards to Peru. Looking forward to getting stuck in and supporting the Dental Mavericks team with some much-needed dental care. 🦷
