🪥Associate dentist position available🪥

We are looking for an associate dentist to take over an established list. Since the pandemic we have built up a huge waiting list that we can start working through once we have a new dentist in place. A full-time associate would be preferable, but we are open to taking on a part-time associate or two.

We are a long-established, independently owned dental practice situated in the
scenic cathedral city of Brechin, located just 2 miles off the A90 between Dundee and Aberdeen. The practice was established 80 years ago and remains an NHS-committed practice, although private treatment is carried out as well.

We are a very busy practice with mostly fantastic patients, and it is not unusual for us to see 3 or even 4 generations of the same family. You will get to know your patients and their families very well.

We have 3 modern, fully-equipped surgeries, all with Exact Software of Excellence, digital radiographs and rotary endodontic systems.

We are a close-knit, supportive, family-oriented practice who would be delighted to have a new dentist join the fold. We're happy to hold the position until August if the successful candidate is still within their VT year and would not be available to start until then. The practice has had vocational trainees in the past and we appreciate the challenges of dentistry early in your career!

All registered patients who were last seen between 2019 and 2020 should now have received letters inviting them to make appointments. We are aware that some patients will have moved address since then, and the postal system is not infallible.

If you are a registered patient who has not been in since before the pandemic you are welcome to contact the practice on 01356 622014 to make an appointment. Thank you.

Due to adverse weather conditions the practice will be closed as of 12pm today. We also plan to be closed for the most part tomorrow, but may be able to open tomorrow afternoon if conditions permit. We are aware that we haven’t posted an update on this page for a while, but just to confirm we are still here!

There have been no new announcements from the Scottish Government or the Chief Dental Officer recently, so this is just a wee update to reassure you that we are slowly working through our backlog of treatment from the first lockdown and beyond.

Some of you will already have had a phonecall and been in to have your treatment completed. For those who haven’t, we will be in contact to arrange an appointment when possible. Please appreciate that there are many people waiting for treatment, so those requiring non-urgent treatment may still be waiting a little while before you hear from us. Those who have been waiting the longest will be our first priority, so please bear with us while we work through our waiting list.

We are progressing slowly and steadily despite the restrictions. Should they lift further we should be able to work through the list more quickly, but we are still in the dark as to when this might be.

As before, if you have any problems or concerns please get in touch, we are happy to continue treating chipped teeth and lost fillings as well as toothache and other problems. We appreciate that a few of you are wary of making an appointment because you may deem it as non-urgent. However, we would encourage you to phone on 01356 622014 if you have concerns about anything.
