"I don't have any pain, so my teeth must be fine... right?" 🦷⚡️

Not always! Here’s a classic example of why routine dental check-ups are so crucial.

This patient came in for a regular check-up with zero pain. However, during the examination, we noticed the tooth was mobile (moving), and upon closer inspection—along with this x-ray—we discovered significant bone loss and underlying infection around a previously treated root canal and crown.

Here’s the breakdown:

1️⃣ Nerves don't feel pain if they aren't alive: Teeth with prior root canal treatments don't have active nerves to alert you when decay or infection creeps back in.

2️⃣ Silent progression: Infections, bone loss, and mobility can develop slowly and painlessly right under the surface.

3️⃣ Prevention over cure: Caught early, many dental issues can be saved. Leaving them undetected often means extraction is the only remaining option.

Don’t wait for a toothache to tell you it’s time to see your dentist! Preventive care keeps your smile healthy, strong, and intact.

As National Smile Month draws to a close, we're continuing to share simple information that helps patients better understand their oral health.

Veneers and crowns are often grouped together, but they serve very different purposes. While both can improve the appearance of a smile, the most appropriate treatment depends on the condition of the tooth, its long-term prognosis and what is needed to achieve a healthy, lasting result.

That's why clinical assessment and careful treatment planning are so important.

One of the most common questions we hear about dental implants is: "How long does the process take?"

The answer depends on the individual case, but for most patients the journey takes place over several months. The good news is that most of that time is spent healing, not sitting in the dental chair. This guide walks through the typical stages from initial planning through to your final crown, helping you understand what to expect along the way.

If you're exploring options for replacing a missing tooth, we're always happy to talk through your choices and answer any questions.

Composite bonding can be used to repair damage, restore worn teeth, refine shape and enhance your smile while keeping the result natural and balanced.

Using carefully layered composite material, teeth can be rebuilt and reshaped with precision and attention to detail, helping improve both oral health and confidence. Sometimes even small changes can make a big difference to how your smile looks and feels 🦷
