Well, that’s the Tour de 4 done — and what a day it was! 🚲🚴♂️🚴
The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish. We met some genuinely lovely people along the way and heard some incredibly moving and inspiring stories.
All the villages we passed through were full of encouraging well-wishers. There was even a bagpipe player in the middle of nowhere offering support and encouragement! The warmth of the people along the route, not to mention the free cakes and treats, certainly helped the 58 miles pass by.
But the biggest thank you has to go to all of you who supported Marc and me.
The messages, kind words and incredibly generous donations have honestly meant more than I can say. We were both quite overwhelmed by the level of support.
Thanks entirely to that generosity, we ended up 14th on the fundraising leaderboard, which we are absolutely delighted with. That really does deserve another huge thank you to everyone who donated.
It was also great to speak with the Maggie’s team on the day. They were so genuinely thankful for the money being raised and took the time to explain just how much the support means to them and, more importantly, to the people and families who use their centres every day.
Having seen first-hand what Maggie’s has meant to Marc during some of his most difficult days, that really brought it home.
So to everyone who donated, sent us a message, wished us luck or simply asked how Marc was doing — thank you. Your support made a very special day even more meaningful for both of us and for the whole family.
We are incredibly grateful.
