✨ Progress update for patient J ✨

Just over a year into treatment, and the transformation is looking fantastic. 🙌

J has been treated on a non-extraction basis using our discreet Iconix® champagne gold braces, combining excellent aesthetics with precise tooth movement.

We’re now into the finishing stages. Just a few minor refinements to the bite remain, so we’ve added some seating elastics to help settle the occlusion. With a little teamwork over the next few weeks, we should be ready for debond at the next visit.

The finish line is in sight! 👏

Every smile starts with trust 🦷✨
Here I am mid-appointment at Signature Orthodontics — this is what I love about the job, helping kids feel comfortable and confident from day one.

A question I get a lot: “when should my child first see an orthodontist?” My honest answer — around age 7-8. Not because they need treatment then, but because it means we can catch things early, while there’s still room to guide how the jaw and teeth grow. Sometimes that means simple, sometimes it means we just keep an eye on things. Either way, you’re ahead of the curve.

If you’re wondering whether it’s time for your child’s first check, drop me a message or book in — link in bio.

Instead, we expanded the arch while there was still growth to work with. Result: space generated, crowding resolved, no extractions needed — the healthiest, most conservative outcome.

This is why the American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child have their first orthodontic check by age 7 — not to start treatment, but to catch these windows before they close (AAO, 2023).

On the NHS, waiting lists in the West Midlands can stretch to 5 years — by which point that window is gone. Seeing the right patient at the right age, often within weeks of first contact, is the difference between conservative treatment and invasive treatment.

Early. Conservative. Evidence-based. That’s paediatric orthodontics done right.

10 years later. Still smiling.

It was great catching up with Abby recently and seeing her smile still looking fantastic more than a decade after treatment.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a specialist orthodontist is seeing patients years later and knowing their smile remains healthy, confident and well-maintained.

Because great orthodontics isn’t just about straightening teeth—it’s about creating results that last.

Practice principal… but that’s just the headline.

Between running my own chair, overseeing multiple therapists, and keeping the patient flow moving, there’s a whole second job (or ten) happening in the background.

Today’s role?
Part-time digital camera technician 📸

Because when the “workhorse” goes down, everything slows down — and in a high-performance clinic, that’s not an option.

So in between patients: troubleshooting, fixing, optimising… whatever it takes to keep the machine running and standards where they should be.

Clinical lead.
HR.
Marketing.
Maintenance.
Problem solver.

This is what it really takes to deliver consistent, top-tier care — not glamorous, but absolutely essential.

The unseen work is the work.

Adult orthodontics is one of the fastest-growing areas in dentistry.

This patient wanted a discreet way to improve the alignment of her teeth without fixed braces.

Using Invisalign clear aligner therapy, we were able to achieve controlled tooth movement and significantly improve alignment while maintaining aesthetics throughout treatment.

What many patients (and sometimes dentists) don’t realise is that age is rarely a limitation for orthodontic treatment. With careful planning and appropriate biomechanics, excellent outcomes can be achieved in mature patients.

After more than 25 years in orthodontics, treating thousands of cases and teaching dentists internationally, it’s still the most rewarding part of what I do — helping patients feel confident about their smile again.

Because orthodontics isn’t just about straight teeth.
It’s about function, balance and long-term stability.

From first tooth eruption to adult relapse cases — I treat it all.

25+ years as a Specialist Orthodontist.
Thousands of completed cases.
Thousands of dentists and orthodontists trained.

I’ve built and led multiple practices — but the real work happens here:

• Listening
• Diagnosing
• Planning
• Executing

Every radiograph tells a story.
Every child’s growth pattern is different.
Every adult case needs precision.

Experience matters in orthodontics.
Especially when you’re designing something that has to last decades.

This is what I do best.
This is what I care about most.

It was awesome randomly meeting these two legends last night.
Growing up as a first-generation Punjabi lad born in the UK, music like theirs wasn’t just music — it was a lifeline to Panjabi language, roots and culture.
We were only just reminiscing about those days at Birmingham Uni… waiting all week for the weekend, heading down to Soho Road in pure anticipation, hunting for the latest releases, buying them on cassette, then taking them home to listen on repeat — before they inevitably found their way into the clubs too. 🎶📼
Those sounds shaped us. They kept us connected to Panjab, strengthened friendships, and created bonds between like-minded souls who felt the same pull towards our shared culture and experiences, even from miles away.
To meet these two icons so randomly, and to find them so humble, so gracious, was honestly a privilege. Proof that the greatest artists don’t just create timeless music — they leave a legacy that carries generations forward.

As this year comes to an end, I’m reminded that everything starts with family. The love, patience and support at home make everything else possible, and I’m incredibly grateful for the moments, the memories and the lessons this year has given us.

Only then comes the work — the smiles we’ve helped create, the journeys we’ve shared with our patients, and the incredible teams who show up every day with care and commitment.

Looking ahead, the goal is to protect what matters most, keep growing, give back wherever we can, and continue building something meaningful for both our families and the families we care for.

Here’s to making more memories and going even further in the year ahead.
