Trusted by dentists across the UK. Excellence, ethics, and patient-centred treatment. The Birmingham Periodontal & Implant Centre has been open for specialist treatments since 1997. However there has been a dental practice at 115 Court Oak Road, for well over 60 years. Dr Harold Edwards originally began the practice in 1947 and worked for almost 30 years with his partner and brother-in-law Dr H M Zeffert. When Dr Edwards retired the practice was taken over by one of their associates Dr Anthony Foster who became a partner in 1968. Dr Foster acquired a reputation as an excellent dentist and he worked here full time until 1997. Dr Boota S Ubhi took over the practice in 1997 after completing his postgraduate specialist studies. Since then the practice has seen major changes including having been renovated twice. The most recent renovation saw the addition of consulting rooms, a dedicated surgical suite and a large postgraduate teaching room added to the building. New staff facilities and a purpose built waiting room were also added to the building at the same time . The practice has acquired both national and internationally recognised reputation for both its clinical work and for teaching postgraduate courses to qualified dentists. Incidentally both Dr Zeffert and Dr Foster and their families still come back for treatment!

BPI Dental CPD Evening: Restorative Excellence🎓

A fantastic evening bringing clinicians together for insightful presentations, clinical discussions and valuable networking👏✨

A smile transformation is about so much more than aesthetics✨

This patient came to BPI Dental wanting to improve the appearance of her smile following orthodontic treatment elsewhere. After recovering from breast cancer, rebuilding her confidence was an important part of her journey too.

Following a detailed assessment, our multidisciplinary team identified concerns with her gum health, upper front teeth, gummy smile and tooth proportions.

A treatment plan involving Dr Boota Singh Ubhi, Dr Sukhdev Singh and Dr Zeeshan Chawdhri included:

30 YEARS FORWARD. From sitting in the audience to standing on the stage.

In 1996, I attended my first BSP conference as a young postgraduate student, listening to clinicians I admired and eager to learn.

30 years later, I have the privilege of standing on that same stage, sharing my own experiences.

What a journey it’s been!

The highs, the lows, the successes, the failures, the friendships and, above all, the lessons learnt along the way. Not everything has gone to plan. There have been challenges, mistakes, moments of self-doubt and plenty of sleepless nights.

But that’s what 30 years in dentistry teaches you. Sometimes our failures teach us more than our successes.

A heartfelt thank you to the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) and especially Dr Paul Baker, BSP President, for the kind invitation and the opportunity to share my journey.

And to all the mentors, colleagues, patients, friends and family who have been part of these 30 years - thank you.

In 1996, I came to learn. In 2026, I’m still learning, just on the other side of the lectern.

To the younger generation: Your time will come.

What a two days! 🦷

Our Peri-Implantitis Management - Comprehensive Training Program brought clinicians together for 14 hours of intensive CPD, focusing on the diagnosis, management and treatment of peri-implantitis disease.

Across the two days, delegates explored real clinical cases, treatment planning and hands-on techniques, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and discuss the clinical decisions that come with managing failing implants.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a great couple of days! 👏

Our first BPI Dental’s CPD event brought together clinicians for an evening of learning, discussion, networking and plenty of conversations over food and drinks🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, engaged with the presentations and helped create such a positive atmosphere. It was brilliant to see so many clinicians connecting and sharing their experiences✨

But an evening like this doesn’t happen without the people behind the scenes…

From organising the event and preparing the room, to welcoming guests, setting everything up, keeping everyone looked after and making sure the evening ran smoothly - a big thank you to the BPI team for all their hard work👏
