We’re looking for an exceptional Lead Receptionist to join our team at our independent practice, Legacy Smile in Bath (formerly Widcombe Dental).

This is a key role within our practice. We’re looking for someone who loves delivering outstanding customer service but also has the confidence and experience to lead a busy front of house team.

You’ll be responsible for managing a team of up to four receptionists, overseeing the day to day running of reception, ensuring administrative tasks are completed, managing end of day cashing up and maintaining excellent standards of reception compliance.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous team management or supervisory experience
• Exceptional face to face customer service skills
• Experience handling payments and cashing up
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence leading, supporting and holding a team accountable
• A warm, professional and proactive approach

Dental experience would be helpful, but it’s not essential. We’d love to hear from people with experience in private healthcare, hospitality, hotels, luxury retail or other high-end customer service environments.

💷 £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
🕐 Full-time, Monday–Friday

New name. Same owners. Same practice.

We’ve had a few people ask whether our change from Widcombe Dental to Legacy Smile Bath means the practice has changed hands.

So we wanted to clear that one up…

It hasn’t!

We’re still Sally and Paul, and we’ve owned and run the practice together since 2012.

Over those years, the practice has grown from just one surgery to the current team and five-surgery practice you know today. We’ve welcomed new clinicians, introduced new treatments and technology, and cared for thousands of patients along the way.

The move to Legacy Smile is about creating a name and identity that better reflects the practice we’ve built.

We’re still proudly independent.
We’re still here.
And we’re very much still us. 💙

Your mouth is more connected to your health than you might think.

A fascinating article published by The Guardian this week explores the growing evidence linking gum health with conditions including heart disease, diabetes and even cognitive decline.

Whilst researchers are still learning exactly how these conditions interact, one thing is already clear:

Healthy gums are about far more than keeping your teeth.

Gum disease is often painless in its early stages, which means many people don't realise there's a problem until permanent damage has occurred.

Warning signs include:
• Bleeding when brushing
• Bad breath
• Receding gums
• Loose teeth
• Sensitive teeth

The good news? Most gum disease is preventable and, when caught early, highly treatable.

We believe prevention is one of the greatest investments you can make, not just for your smile, but for your overall wellbeing.
