A young patient suffered a traumatic injury where an upper front tooth was completely knocked out and repositioned at the time of the accident.
At age 11, further treatment was carried out over 2 visits to disinfect and rebuild the tooth while encouraging continued healing and root development. At the 3-month review, the tooth was comfortable, functional, and looked healthy, with the patient and parents delighted with the result.
Now, 2 years later, the tooth remains symptom-free with good colour match to the neighbouring teeth. There are signs the tooth may have fused slightly to the bone (ankylosis), so it will continue to be monitored closely with future scans to assess healing and development.
The main aim has been to preserve the tooth and maintain function and appearance for as long as possible while the patient continues to grow.
