A case that has been 12 months in the making. With a significant gum lift and 8 replacement crowns - these teeth are completely unrecognisable. The term 'life changing' is thrown around a lot in dentistry, but this has been genuinely transformative 😁

There was a huge amount of pocket reduction surgery and crown lengthening in this case, up to 6mm in some areas. The challenge was getting papillae to form. A mucoderm soft tissue graft was placed between the upper centrals as was concerned over the potential for black triangles. Now no probing depth U4-4.

By correcting the patients bite and building the teeth back to their original length the smile is completely transformed.

5-5 free hand composite rehab increasing OVD in CR. By propping the patient open and making a putty jig to lock into that position we can make occlusal stops in composite.

I then built palatal shelves to this new height to direct forces down the long axis of the incisors and placed canine risers. Once anterior guidance has been determined the posterior composite inlays can be formed.

This patient came to me with a retained baby tooth and a space on the upper left side. As the patient wanted a long lasting, hard wearing an stain resistant option we opted to place some porcelain veneers and bridges for an unbelievable, natural result.

We also opted to adjust her upper canine teeth that were poking down into her smile.

8 composite bonds to cover and protect pitted and worn enamel. The rough/lumpy appearance of the enamel is due to a defect in how the teeth formed.

They often stain more rapidly due to their texture. Placing composites over the enamel creates a shiny texture and allows me to disguise the misshapen teeth.
