November is Mouth Cancer Action Month and is all about raising awareness about Mouth Cancer. The latest figures show that 8,722 people in the UK were diagnosed with mouth cancer last year. Mouth cancer can affect anybody and it’s important that we all know what to look out for. Early detection could save your life. If you notice any changes in your mouth please speak to your dentist or doctor immediately.

The 1st of November marked the start of mouth cancer awareness month. Although the ‘C’ word conjures up fear, it’s important to start the conversation, and learn the signs & symptoms of oral cancer.
Ways you can reduce your risk of mouth cancer include:
- Stopping smoking (around 65% of Mouth Cancers are associated with smoking)
- Increase your intake of fruit and veg
- Brush twice a day for at least 2 minutes
- Limit alcohol intake
