🦷 From pupil to trainee dental nurse… and back to school!

Today was a particularly special day for Your Perfect Smile Dental & Implant Clinic as Dr Agnieszka and Emily attended the Healthcare Careers Fair at Kingussie High School.

And for Emily, it was a little different from your usual careers fair… this is the school where Emily went herself. Today, she was back, but this time as a trainee dental nurse, helping to inspire the next generation. ❤️

There are so many different paths within the dental profession, including:

🦷 Dentists
🪥 Dental Nurses
✨ Dental Hygienists
👩‍⚕️ Dental Therapists
🔬 Dental Technicians
💻 Digital Dentistry
…and many more.

But we didn’t just want to tell them about dentistry. We wanted them to actually have a go!

The students had the opportunity to:

🦷 Place their own dental filling using real dental materials and prepared models
🦷 Place an O-ring on orthodontic braces
💻 See a real-life demonstration of an intraoral scanner and how we use digital technology in modern dentistry
❓ Ask questions about dental careers, training and what it’s really like to work in the profession

It was brilliant seeing how curious and enthusiastic everyone was. Some students were surprisingly good at the practical bits too!!

A huge thank you to Kingussie High School for inviting us and to all the students who came along, asked questions and got stuck in.

Who knows… perhaps we met some of the next generation of the dental team today! 🦷✨

Came in on Friday morning and found this waiting for me… 😂

I definitely wasn’t expecting a **self-nominated “Employees of the Week”** feature before I’d even started the day.

But honestly… the confidence, the commitment, the ex*****on? **Iconic.** 😄

Safe to say it gave me a proper laugh — and with smiles like these, I think they may have a point! 💛

🦷🚨 EMILY’S FIRST DAY DENTAL NURSE TRAINING MODE: ACTIVATED! 🚨🦷

Today’s the day our team member Emily heads off to the Inverness campus to start her dental nursing qualification — and let’s just say she’s very prepared… we think! 😂

Her morning checklist so far:
✅ Alarm definitely went off (we’re choosing to believe it did)
✅ Books packed and ready to go
✅ Laptop charged and hopefully not still on 12%
✅ Coffee refueled — very essential
✅ Car started — no last-minute “where are my keys?” panic (yet)
✅ Dental nursing brain switched from “team member mode” to “student mode”

Off she goes to the Inverness campus for Day 1 of her new journey, and the whole team is cheering her on! 🎉

It’s only a matter of time before she’s impressing us all with new dental knowledge, mastering those instruments, and probably correcting our pronunciation of words we’ve been saying wrong for years. 😆

You’ve got this, Emily — enjoy every minute, take all the notes, and remember: we’re here if you need a study buddy, a coffee run partner, or someone to quiz you on dental terminology at 9pm. 📚☕✨
