Our medical acupuncture clinic is back!!

Medical acupuncture may be helpful in the treatment of already diagnosed musculoskeletal disorders including neck, shoulder & knee pain. It may also help with migraine, IBS & symptoms of anxiety.

We have been delighted to welcome so many of our patients back into the practice for care over the past week.

However, please note that we are still working within the current restrictions and as such we can only provide care for patients requiring emergency treatment due to pain or trauma.

Only one dental surgeon is in the practice each day and we can currently only see a maximum of 10 patients per day. Our treatment options are also currently limited.

Should you require assistance, please call the practice as early or as soon as possible and one of our nurse team will discuss your circumstances / symptoms.

As the guidelines change and are updated we will hope to be able to provide further care and treatment over the coming weeks.

The Scottish Government have now announced that as part of phase 2 restrictions, dental practices are allowed to reopen....

The Scottish Government have now announced that as part of phase 2 restrictions, dental practices are allowed to reopen.

As such, Smiles-Plus Dental Care will be open on Monday 22 June @ 09.00. At this stage this is for dental emergencies and urgent treatment only.

During this stage of opening, we will be working from one surgery with only one of our dental surgeons allowed to provide treatment each day. We will have a reduced support team in the practice for social distancing reasons.

At this time the reopening is strictly for emergencies and urgent care. This means we will not be allowed to perform any routine dental treatment, dental exams, scaling, etc. We hope that as we transition out of phase 2 in the coming weeks, our ability to provide further care might change.

If you have contacted us over the past months, we will try our best to contact you, however, please feel free to now contact the practice directly during opening hours.

The practice will be following strict social distancing guidelines and we ask all patients to follow the guidance provided by the team and the new signage.

We look forward to welcoming you back and we will be working hard to accommodate everyone as soon as possible.

*** Patient Update ***

Smiles-Plus Dental Care is currently closed to all Dental patients however our team are hard at work preparing the practice for your return.

Here’s what we’ve been up to so far;

Every inch of the practice has been intensively steam cleaned and sterilised with new products as per our guidance

We have invested in appropriate social distancing signage, floor stickers and clear protective reception screens.

We have PPE in place for all visitors and patients, with a PPE station to be used by all - masks, hand sanitiser etc

We have upgraded our computer hardware with protective and sterilisable films

Engineers have been working on our air conditioning and air extraction / ventilation systems

The layout of our waiting area has been changed to allow for social distancing

We have taken this opportunity during the closure to carry out general upgrade and remedial work to the practice

All staff have been completing courses and training on a near daily basis, to ensure we are ready for the new procedures in place for your next Visit to the practice and of course any treatment you receive

It’s been a great effort so far... thanks to all the nursing team, reception staff and even our principal who gets stuck in to help.

We can’t wait to welcome you back.
