🦷 Meet the Team: Nicole Scobie

Nicole is one of our Dental Hygiene Therapists at Macdonald & Morson Dental Care.

She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2026 and loves helping patients feel comfortable, confident and in control of their oral health.

Her top tip for nervous patients? Just tell us how you’re feeling. We can slow things down and tailor your appointment around you.

Outside work, Nicole enjoys hillwalking, the cinema and is currently preparing to welcome her first child! 👶

🦷 Meet the Team: Hilary

Meet Hilary, one of our Registered Dental Hygienists.

Hilary qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1994 at Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School and is registered with the General Dental Council (GDC No. 4743).

What Hilary loves most about her role is helping patients understand their oral health and giving them the confidence to make positive changes.

“I love those little lightbulb moments when something suddenly clicks for a patient. Seeing their hard work turn into healthier gums and a healthier smile is incredibly rewarding.”

For anyone feeling nervous about an appointment, Hilary recommends booking early in the day if possible, so you’re not worrying about it all day. She also suggests planning something nice afterwards. Coffee, lunch, a walk or whatever gives you something to look forward to.

Outside of work, Hilary loves spending time with her three children, her two dogs, including a rescued greyhound, and trying out new recipes.

We’re delighted to have Hilary as part of the Macdonald & Morson team.

🦷 Meet the Team is back with Dr Siân John!

Associate Dentist
GDC No. 326803

Siân focuses on general dentistry and family care, and is keen to keep developing her skills through further training.

Her interest in dentistry started after receiving excellent care following an injury to her front teeth when she was younger. That experience inspired her to give the same reassurance and support to her own patients.

She especially enjoys meeting new people and helping patients get out of pain.

Her advice for nervous patients?

“Focus on your breathing and I’ll do the rest.”

Outside the practice, Siân enjoys netball, hiking Munros and wild swimming in Scotland’s chilly lochs. 🏔️❄️

🦷 Exciting News from Our Alloa Practice

We’re pleased to announce that Dr Sian John has successfully completed her VT programme with Macdonald & Morson Dental Care and will be staying with us in Alloa as an Associate Dentist.

Sian has become a valued member of the team over the past year, and we’re very pleased that she’ll be continuing her career with the practice.

Her new role will also help us increase appointment availability at our Alloa practice as we continue to invest in our people and facilities to meet the growing needs of the community.
