The facial aesthetics clinic launch at our Grandholm Clinic went amazingly well on Saturday.

Our clinical director .a_c was thrilled to oversee Dr Elaine from Grandholm and Dr Azadeh from Granite City treating patients with solutions for lines and wrinkles and dermal fillers and formally welcome them as part of Scottish Dental Care’s Facial Aesthetics clinics.

You will train in-house as well as Aberdeen Dental Education Centre where you will undertake The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) & Professional Development Award (PDA) in Dental Nursing.

**Essential Entry Requirements**

Three qualifications at SCQF level 4 (e.g. Standard Grades at 'General' or above, or National 4 or above) in English; Maths; and a Science subject.

“Dental Clinics remain open for dental care & the position is unchanged in that:

· Essential travel includes leaving home for healthcare

· Dentistry is essential healthcare

· Dentistry can therefore continue in Level 4 and the revised restrictions announced by FM this afternoon

If a patient attends the Practice with a concern, then the full range of clinical dental care remains available to the dentist in order to manage their patient’s condition”

NHS DENTISTRY UPDATE – GRANITE CITY CLINIC

From 1st November 2020, the Scottish Government have moved to Phase 4 of the NHS Dental Remobilisation Plan.

This means that we are able to commence providing the full range of NHS treatments to all NHS patients in need of both urgent and non-urgent care. Please note, treatment costs will apply unless patients are exempt.

It is important to be aware that we will require time to fully adapt to this new level of remobilising. It is also recognised that while our NHS patients can now receive the full range of NHS treatments, it is not “business as usual” - because of the current constraints, patient numbers will remain lower than normal and we will have to continue to prioritise patients based on oral health needs. We are also limited in the number of surgeries we can open each day and the number of clinical sessions each Dentist can carry out.

Nationally, it is expected that NHS patient throughput will remain reduced, around 20-30% of pre-COVID footfall. Therefore the supply of NHS PPE provided is based on us seeing 10 patients per dentist per day of whom 5 patients can be seen for an aerosol generated procedure (AGP).

We are prioritising the back-log first. We invite patients who had previously booked appointments during the period 23 March 2020 onwards that had been cancelled due to the lockdown or due to the restrictions once we re-opened on 29 June 2020 to contact us to re-book their cancelled appointments. If you are in need of urgent dental care or have a dental emergency in normal working hours, call us as usual on 01224 592277.

If you have a dental emergency outside of normal working hours, please contact NHS 24 on 111.
