Dr Rahmeh Alhyari, a PhD candidate in Dentistry, had recently had the opportunity to share her research at the International Association of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology (IADMFR) 2025 conference, which took place in London from 24–25 June 2025.

Speaking about this experience, she said: "My presentation focused on a key component of my doctoral project, a multi-centre randomised controlled trial comparing three-dimensional imaging (Cone Beam CT) with two-dimensional panoramic radiography in relation to their impact on patient outcomes and the risk of nerve injury in mandibular third molar surgery. I would also like to acknowledge that the Chief Investigator of the trial is Dr Anand Lalli, whose ongoing support and guidance throughout the study.

This international platform provided a valuable opportunity to represent the University of Aberdeen and showcase the high-impact research being undertaken within the Institute of Dentistry."
