Fun fact for you! But did you know our hygienist Hannah is not only the real life Elle Woods, but she’s also one of my bestest friends and has been for the last 20 years ❤️

Hannah is such a beautiful person inside and out and love how I get to work with her everyday at . She’s also an amazing dental hygienist and so proud to have her as a part of our team ⭐

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a dentist. I remember telling my friends in the school yard that when I grow up i’m going to be a dentist. But at 8 years old, I was diagnosed with dyslexia and there were moments where I wondered if the path I’d chosen was going to be harder than I could handle.

Dentistry is technical and can be very intense. It asks a lot of you. But I had something that I know not everyone is lucky enough to have and that’s a family who never once made me feel like my dreams were out of reach. That foundation carried me further than I can put into words.

I also had the most incredible mentor in Dr Len Smart, who had confidence in me and guided me in a way that shaped the dentist I became. If you’re considering this career, please don’t underestimate the value of finding someone like that. Get the experience. Be around the people already doing the job. Because knowing something is right for you looks very different from the inside.

I persevered and I got there.

No one knows my next move better than my dental nurse.

We don’t even need to speak half the time, because before I know it, she’s already reaching for the next thing before I’ve even asked 😂. It’s like a little dance we’ve got going, and the patient in the chair gets the benefit of that every single time.

People often ask what makes a great dental experience. A lot of it comes down to what’s happening behind the scenes and that’s a team that works together, that cares, and that makes the whole thing feel calm and easy.

That’s what we bring to every appointment.

The changes may seem pointless to some, but to you, those changes are everything.

And that’s what I love about this job. No two smiles are the same, which means no two treatments are either.

Composite bonding is one of my favourites because it works with what you already have. I build up the tooth by hand, shape it to your face, and the results look completely natural, because they are.

No taking your teeth away and nothing too drastic. Just a better version of the smile that’s already yours.

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference to how someone feels, and that never gets old for me.

My favourite part about being a dentist ✨

I’ve wanted to be a dentist since I was little.

I don’t even remember a time when I wanted to be anything else; it was just always this. I had this picture in my head of what the job would look like and in a lot of ways, it does look like that.

But there’s one part I didn’t see coming.

Nobody told me that the best bit wouldn’t be the clinical work. It would be this, watching someone look in the mirror after their treatment and seeing their whole face change.

I thought I was signing up to fix teeth. I didn’t realise I was signing up to give people their confidence back. To help someone feel comfortable in photos again, or laugh without covering their mouth, or just feel like themselves.

That’s the part they don’t teach you, and it’s everything. I love what I do, and moments like this get me every time.
