Prótesis fija o removible. Es de las dudas que más se repiten en consulta, y con razón: no hay una respuesta única, depende de cada boca.

🔩 Prótesis fija
Se ancla de forma permanente, normalmente sobre implantes o los dientes propios. No se quita para dormir ni para comer, y la sensación es muy parecida a la de un diente natural.

🦷 Prótesis removible
Se puede poner y quitar cuando lo necesites. Es una solución más rápida de conseguir y accesible para muchos casos, especialmente cuando faltan varias piezas o toda la arcada.

¿Cuál es mejor? Ninguna lo es en general. Depende de cuántos dientes falten, del estado del hueso, de tus hábitos y de lo que tú mismo prefieras para tu día a día.

Lo que sí es igual en ambos casos: la finalidad es la misma. Recuperar la función, la comodidad y la confianza al sonreír.

Fixed denture
Anchored permanently, usually onto implants or your own teeth. You don't take it out to sleep or eat, and it feels very close to a natural tooth.

Removable denture
You can put it in and take it out whenever you need to. It's a faster, more accessible solution for many cases, especially when several teeth are missing or a full arch.

Which one is better? Neither is, in general. It depends on how many teeth are missing, the state of the bone, your habits and what actually suits your day-to-day life.

What stays the same in both cases: the purpose. Getting back function, comfort and confidence in your smile.

Empezamos con Víctor, que llegó desde Argentina con la idea de hacer las cosas bien y con cercanía. Con el tiempo, Natalia y Miguel tomaron el relevo, manteniendo lo esencial: trato directo, seguimiento real y un equipo que conoce a sus pacientes.

En 35 años hemos visto crecer a familias enteras. Padres que trajeron a sus hijos, y esos hijos que ahora traen a los suyos. Pacientes que llegaron de vacaciones y hoy siguen viniendo cada año.

Tu rutina de mañana y de noche dice mucho de ti. Y no, no hablamos solo del café o de la crema hidratante.

Los dos minutos de cepillado al empezar y al terminar el día son parte de esa misma rutina, aunque casi nunca les demos ese valor.

☀️ Por la mañana:
Cepillado con calma, sin prisas, antes de salir de casa. Es el momento de "activar" la boca para el día, igual que activas el cuerpo con un café o una ducha.

🌙 Por la noche:
Este es el cepillado que de verdad importa. Durante el día produces saliva, que ayuda a limpiar de forma natural. Por la noche, la producción baja, así que lo que quede sin limpiar se queda ahí trabajando toda la noche.

👓 El detalle que casi nadie hace:
El hilo dental o los cepillos interdentales. No forman parte del hábito para la mayoría, pero son los que llegan donde el cepillo no llega.

No hace falta una rutina complicada. Con constancia y dos minutos bien hechos, mañana y noche, tu boca lo nota.

You don't need a complicated routine. With consistency and two minutes done properly, morning and night, your mouth notices.

Mucha gente convive con esto años sin saber a quién acudir. Se piensa en el fisioterapeuta, en el médico general… y casi nunca en el dentista. Pero en muchos casos, el origen está justo ahí.

Se llama disfunción de la ATM, la articulación que conecta la mandíbula con el cráneo. Más frecuente de lo que parece.

¿Cómo se manifiesta?

🔸 Chasquidos al abrir o cerrar la boca

Un pinchazo con el frío de vez en cuando puede ser normal. Pero si se repite, no hay que acostumbrarse.

La sensibilidad dental es muy común, y por eso mucha gente convive con ella sin darle importancia. El problema es que detrás puede haber algo que conviene revisar.

¿Cuándo pedir cita?

🔸 Aparece de forma repentina y antes no la tenías
🔸 Dura más de unos segundos tras el estímulo
🔸 Aparece también al morder, no solo con frío o calor
🔸 Está en un solo diente, no en varios
🔸 Va a más con el tiempo

Cualquiera de estos casos puede ser señal de esmalte desgastado, encía retraída, una caries o una fisura. Cuanto antes se mire, más sencilla suele ser la solución.

Si es puntual y leve, a veces se controla con pasta específica. Pero si te reconoces en algún punto, no lo dejes pasar.
