A very challenging case i extremely enjoyed treating for 1 main reason:
Her story: although she was well aware of her esthetic problems that were getting worse day by day , because her old bridge was always falling out and soft-tissue gaps were increasing, she kept postponing going to a dentist for a permanent solution for years... When i asked why? she said "i hate going to dentists" and as usual my answer was "me too!!!! everyone hates going to a dentist"
although i am told that every single day by different patients i was determined to really understand why this time?
Yes most off the time its because they are afraid off pain but this patient had major trust issues... although her dental status had started to affect her daily life, not being able to smile in photos, always afraid to eat in public, and not being able to socialize with friends, she would rather go through all that emotional pain than go to a dentist, for one main reason: she like most patients had visited many dentists hoping that they would give her a full treatment plan for her problems, although some off them took some time and effort in diagnosing her problems and gave her different treatment options, she always felt that something was not right, she was afraid that she wouldn't get what she was promised, that something would go wrong in the middle & she would get the same excuse she got before from her first dentist....
The one thing that made her change her mind was when we showed her how her teeth & gums would look according to her face & thoroughly explained every single step that needed to be done before touching her teeth using modern digital technology...
