The “BRIGHT SMILES” dental program was launched in 2004, it served different community sectors as orphanages, schools, summer schools and several summer camps, where thousands of children along with their parents/teachers benefited greatly from the program and great success was achieved in minimizing children’s’ teeth decay (cavities) and pain. The program explains simply to the children and their
parents/teachers the importance of the dental and oral hygiene and its relationship to healthy eating habits. We assure that each and every child knows how to implement such habits in his daily life making it an easy to follow routine either indoors or outdoors, whether having simple tools or no facilities at all. Our kids learn:
• The importance of their teeth
• How to take care of them
• What is tooth decay (cavities)?
• How to avoid decay (what to do and what not to do)
• Healthy eating habits
• How to clean the teeth after eating sweets when the toothbrush is not nearby?
• Emergency care when a permanent tooth is broken, lost or knocked out after any accidental fall, blow or hit (above 7 years of age)
Because each child is unique, Dr. Marwa, Individually sits with each child observing his tooth brushing and flossing techniques, and then she teaches the child how to properly brush and floss with the technique that matches his motor skills in order to obtain the best results in the simplest approach. The parents learn:
• What is a “Dental Home”
• The importance of baby teeth
• How to protect your child from dental pain
• How to protect your child from future orthodontic problems
• How pregnancy and nursing (breast/bottle feeding) affect both the mother’s and the child’s teeth
• What to do and what not to do during pregnancy and nursing
• Child Emergency management till you reach your dentist
All our kids get a dental check up with their personal disposable diagnostic kits. Our sessions are fun to all kids regardless of the age, as they get the appropriate information that matches their age category that vary from simple story telling, puppet shows and games till more advanced mini-lectures, all of which are done in a friendly, warm and cozy environment. Finally, educating our little angels makes them proudly and confidently have bright smiles, and that, means the world…
