Honored and truly happy to share knowledge with colleagues I respect 🤍

A short clip from my demo on preparing an inlay-onlay-retained bridge, delivered after a presentation for the Fixed Prosthodontics staff at the Faculty of Dentistry, Misr International University, where I proudly belong.

This session aimed to unify assessment criteria and reach a consistent caliber of preparation, especially with this design now being added as a practical requirement for 3rd-year students.

The session was kindly requested by Prof. Rana Sherif, Head of the Department, and Dr. Yara Sayed, Course Director of 3rd Year—a trust I truly value.

Following the session, a structured evaluation rubric was developed to support objective assessment.
Sharing knowledge with fellow staff is a personal educational vision of mine, and one that perfectly aligns with MIU’s mission: graduating dentists who are clinically competent, market-ready, and aware of contemporary preparation designs.

It was a great pleasure to deliver a staff development session at Misr International University for my department — the Fixed Prosthodontics Department — in collaboration with Dentsprint

The session, held at MIU’s Digital Dental Center, focused on posterior indirect adhesive restorations and the digital 3D printing workflow, highlighting how digital innovation continues to enhance restorative dentistry.

I am grateful to Prof. Rana Sherif, Head of the Fixed Prosthodontics Department, for requesting this session, and to Prof. Talaat Samhan, Head of the Digital Center, for his continuous support and dedication.

Having witnessed the development of MIU’s Digital Center since its early beginnings more than a decade ago, it’s truly inspiring to see how far it has come and how it continues to shape the future of dental education.

A moment of pride standing beside the historic CEREC 1 machine and scanner at the Ain Shams International Dental Conference — a true symbol of the dawn of digital dentistry.

My sincere thanks to Allam Medical Group and Dr. Mohamed Allam for their dedication in preserving this pioneering technology and bringing it back to light. It’s like witnessing a living museum piece from the early days when CEREC could only mill inlays and onlays — a remarkable reminder of how far digital dentistry has come.

The CEREC 1 (introduced in 1985 by Prof. Werner Mörmann and Dr. Marco Brandestini at the University of Zurich) was the first chairside CAD/CAM system in dentistry — truly the birth of digital dentistry. It used a black and white camera with infrared light to capture the preparation and could only mill inlays and onlays - not crowns nor veneers! :)

Honored to contribute as a member of the international accreditation committee under MIU’s Quality Assurance Unit for meeting the representatives of the Accreditation Agency for Health & Social Sciences (AHPGS) AHPGS Akkreditierungs gGmbH during the accreditation procedure last February 2025, specifically for the Bachelor of Dental Medicine (Oral and Dental Medicine) program.

I’m proud to share that the program has been granted accreditation without conditions — a significant recognition that confirms it fully meets the rigorous standards and requirements of AHPGS and the relevant international accreditation frameworks. No modifications required — a testament to the strength and quality of the program.
