Located at Al Korba, the beating heart of Heliopolis, Korba Dental Studio is an inspiration by the name of that famous location. Actually, that name has a story...
When Heliopolis was first planned to be established in 1905 by Baron Édouard Empain - to be Cairo’s new suburb of luxury and leisure - it was visioned to implement aesthetic and functional advantages from different architectural backgr
ounds, like the Medieval Egyptian, Moorish, and European. The suburb was planned to have a center, a square, but not exactly a square... Baron Empain was so creative and courageous to replace the traditional central square of the suburb with a central triangle, and that central triangle had 3 blocks of buildings around it forming the shapes of the triangle. But that did not suit Baron Empain’s design of the central area, probably because of its triangular design, so Baron Empain came up with a very bright idea, that is - for the first time in Egypt - he makes a curved street. And though it was technically just a curve, it was a very creative curve. A curve that connected everything. A game-changing curve. A curved that made Heliopolis possible. Hence the name, “Al Korba”, a transliteration that comes from the French word "La Courbe", meaning: "The Curve". Baron Empain died and was buried at the Basilica Church of Al Korba on November 13th, 1930, leaving a legacy of architectural art behind him; Al Korba, Heliopolis. In that same year 1930, from applied art to fine art, Piet Mondrian created his unique painting “Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow” to be one of the most famous works of art in history. You can see its pattern in our logo. Mondrian’s art was highly utopian and was concerned with a search for universal values, aesthetics, and harmony, and he inspired millions of artists to our day. And because the year Baron Empain died is the same year Piet Mondrian painted his most famous painting, this indicates to us the facts that art outlives people’s lives, can be expressed in different forms, and passes from one generation to another. Dentistry is also a form of art, and the smile is basically a curve. And just like Baron Empain’s Korba curve changed everything and made Heliopolis possible, also a smile can change everything for you and your beloved ones and make impossible things possible. We aim to provide professional dental services through our team of specialized dental professionals and the finest quality materials.
