Further to this the NEURO and ORTHODONTIC product ranges will be extended with new and innovative product segments over the coming months.

🦷 3 Clinical Cases – 1 System: Effective Alignment of Ectopic Mandibular Canines

New publication alert!
In the latest issue of Informationen aus Orthodontie & Kieferorthopädie (Thieme Verlag), Dr. Michael Schubert and Dr. Mirjam Berneburg present three successful clinical cases involving the alignment of ectopically positioned mandibular canines – a rare and demanding orthodontic scenario.

Using our PSM Easy-Way-Coil® EWC Spring System with anchorage from a lingual arch, the authors demonstrate a biomechanically controlled approach to move severely displaced canines safely and effectively – without extraction.

🔹 Case 1 – Unilateral ectopic canine (adolescent):
Following surgical exposure, the tooth was aligned into the arch using the EWC Spring System and a lingual arch for anchorage.

🔹 Case 2 – Unilateral ectopy in a young patient:
A combined surgical-orthodontic approach enabled successful traction and preservation of the displaced canine.

🔹 Case 3 – Bilateral ectopic mandibular canines:
A highly complex case managed with bilateral EWC traction. Both canines were successfully aligned with full functional integration.

Once again, the EWC Spring System proves to be a clinically reliable, minimally invasive, and effective solution for controlled canine alignment – even in the most challenging cases.
