Was sind Brücken mit Ankerpunkten?

Fest sitzender Zahnersatz, der an vorhandenen Zähnen befestigt wird. Die Unterkonstruktion ist meist aus Edelmetall. Das Gerüst wird größtenteils mit einer zahnfarbenen Keramikmasse überzogen. Dieses Verfahren ist extrem stabil und langlebig. Trotzdem sollte erwähnt werden, dass bei diesem Zahnersatz-Verfahren häufig gesunde Nebenzähne beschliffen und damit beschädigt werden müssen. Ein einzelnes Zahnimplantat als Zahnersatz kommt ohne diesen Nachteil aus, ist dafür aber teurer. Zahnimplantate können auch als Ankerpunkte für Brücken dienen.

What are bridges with (at least two) anchor points?

Fixed dentures that are mounted to the existing teeth. The sub-structure is usually made of a precious metal. The frame is usually covered with a tooth-colored mass of ceramic. This procedure is extremely stable and durable. In spite of this, it should be mentioned that in this denture procedure the health adjacent teeth often have to be ground and therefore damaged. A single dental implant as a denture does not suffer from this disadvantage but is more expensive. Dental implants can also function as anchor points for bridges.

Welche Vorteile bieten Veneers?

Bei den minimalinvasiven Veneers erfolgt eine geringe Reduzierung an Zahnhartsubstanz an der Vorderseite der Zähne. Anders als bei Vollkronen, wo der gesamte Zahn vollständig beschliffen werden muss und somit ein hoher Verlust an Zahnsubstanz einhergeht kann bei einer Veneersversorgung durch minimalinvasive Vorgehensweise sehr substanzschonend gearbeitet werden. Im Gegensatz zur Krone ist der Übergang von der hauchdünnen Keramikschale zum Zahn praktisch unsichtbar. Das von Kronen bekannte Problem von Zahnfleischentzündungen oder freilegenden Kronenrändern gibt es bei Veneers nicht. Sollen sehr dunkel verfärbte Zähne mit Veneers versorgt werden, sollte über eine schonende Zahnaufhellung nachgedacht werden, um das Ergebnis zu optimieren.

What advantages do veneers offer?

Minimally invasive veneers involve a slight reduction of the tooth enamel on the front side of the teeth. Unlike full crowns, where the entire tooth is completely ground and thus there is a high loss of actual tooth substance, a veneer application allows one to work so as to maximally preserve substance. In contrast to crowns, the transition from the paper-thin ceramic shell to the tooth is practically invisible. The problems that are so familiar with crowns, such as inflammations of the gums or exposed edges around the crown, do not occur with veneers. If teeth that are dark and highly discolored are to be provided with veneers, one should consider a gentle whitening treatment in order to optimize the results.

Was sind Veneers?
Veneers sind hauchdünne, lichtdurchlässige Keramikschalen, die bevorzugt auf der Vorderseite der Frontzähne aufgeklebt werden. Der sichtbare Bereich der Frontzähne wird dabei mit einer Keramik-Facette abgedeckt. Mit Hilfe spezieller Haftklebstoffen entsteht eine lichtdurchlässige, zahnfarbene Einheit mit perfekter Ästhetik, die selbst von Zahnärzten manchmal nur mit großer Mühe von natürlichen Zähnen zu unterscheiden ist.

Dr. Farhad Dabir ist Facharzt für Implantologie, Prothetik und Parodontologie. Er hat seinen Doktortitel an der Universität des Saarlandes erworben. Seine langjährige Berufserfahrung hat er unter anderem in Krankenhäusern und Praxen in Kamp-Lintfort und Düsseldorf gesammelt. Ab 1988 war er in der AOK-Zahnklinik in Düsseldorf tätig. Von 1993 bis 2010 führte er eine eigene Praxis in Düsseldorf. Seit 2010 gehört er zum Praxisteam und leitet eine Zahnarztpraxis in Oldebroek in den Niederlanden.

Vafa Karimi ist Master of Science mit Examen an der Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität in Greifswald. Nach seinem Studium hat er als Assistenzarzt in niedergelassenen Praxen in Köln und Umgebung fungiert. 2004 zog er nach London um, wo er mehrere Jahre in Privatpraxen tätig war. 2010 ließ er sich mit seiner Praxis in Kaiserswerth nieder. Er ist Spezialist für Wurzelkanalbehandlungen (Endodontie).

ENDODONTIE

Wurzelkanalbehandlungen: hier zählt größte Sorgfalt. Eine Wurzelkanalbehandlung wird nötig, wenn die Karies auslösenden Bakterien das Zahnmark befallen und dort eine Entzündung ausgelöst haben. Der „Zahnnerv” muss dann entfernt werden, der Zahn selbst kann jedoch trotzdem oft noch lange erhalten bleiben. Ist sicher gestellt, dass die Entzündung vollständig abgeklungen ist, werden die Wurzelkanäle abgefüllt und bakteriendicht verschlossen.

ENDODONTICS

Root canal treatments: Here the greatest attention to detail is required! A root canal treatment becomes necessary once the bacteria that cause caries attack the tooth pulp and trigger an inflammation. The “dental nerve” must be removed but the tooth itself can often be preserved for a long time. Once it is clear that the inflammation has been completely resolved, the root canals are filled up and sealed against bacteria.
