You often ask which X-rays are needed before impacted wisdom tooth extraction.

In most cases, a panoramic X-ray (panorex) is sufficient. However, if the tooth is located close to the mandibular nerve, we may recommend a CBCT scan (3D X-ray).

This allows us to clearly assess the relationship between the tooth and the nerve, ensuring a safer procedure and minimizing any risk.
