Your oral health speaks a lot about you. It sends a message to people
It sends negative message when your teeth is covered with whitish or yellowish stuff.

This stuff (plaque) causes mouth odour and an unappealing appearance.

Instead of people to cover their nose when you speak because of odour, please pay attention to your oral health care.

Oral health care is not hard to practice or live by. It starts with intentionality.

Protect your image, and your friends image by brushing properly.

Floss after meal.

Drink enough water.

Avoid consumption of sugar and high sugar content food.

Your oral health is your image. Guide it and maintain it.

Protect your teeth. Maintain it in private so that it will please and serve you in private.

I am rooting for you.

Are you finding it difficult to maintain a healthy oral health? Talk to me and I will surely help out.

This morning I came across a post by Florence Nehlum and it was a request from someone asking for a solution to her toothache. I didn't comment on it cuz I was running late for work and equally because others recommended what I would were I just to do that and pass.

The reason for this post is because of a funny recommendation I have seen severally which, to me, is a call for concern.

Someone recommended Longrich toothpaste.

Almost every time I have seen someone post about toothache, someone has asked the person to use Longrich toothpaste.

I have no issue with Longrich toothpaste, but I have a question.

Is it the panacea for oral health issues?

It's first a malpractice to prescribe without proper diagnosis.

Toothpastes mostly help with gum issues and not all of them.

There are some gum issues that you must see a dentist for them to be resolved.

Before I continue with the rant about toothpaste, which I am not sure to continue, let me say some few things about toothache.

People have toothache for more than one reason and so it takes proper diagnosis to be able to give the right prescription.
Here are some causes of toothache.

1. Trauma: You could have toothache resulting from trauma either immediately or later. When this is the case, seeing a dentist for proper evaluation and management is highly recommended.

2. Gum disease: Toothache could result from gum disease.
When this is the case, visiting for proper evaluation and management is still recommended.

3. Caries/Pulpitis: This is the most common cause of toothache.

When you have a cavity on your tooth and it gets to the point where the pulp is touched, pain results.

If you don't take immediate action, the cavity continues to deepen and depending on the location of the tooth and how well you take care of your mouth, can lead to further complications which in some cases can lead to death.

I learned of a guy in Menchum who almost lost his Mom cuz she complained of toothache, and the guy being away kept sending her Longrich toothpaste.

The Mom was rushed to hospital when she was almost gone.

Many have died because they had toothache and tried managing it themselves or following quarter advice and by the time they were brought to the hospital, pus had infiltrated their lungs and it was too late.

Toothache is not like normal headache that you can just go to a roadside counter, get some painkillers and get rid of it.

Done joke with your health.

Seek expert advice whenever you have an issue.

P.S: I'm not against you selling your toothpaste but I am against prescribing it for oral health problem.

Tips for selecting a good toothpaste:

1. Consider your specific oral health needs:

- If you have sensitive teeth, look for a desensitizing toothpaste with ingredients like potassium nitrate.

- If you're prone to cavities, choose a toothpaste with fluoride, which helps strengthen enamel.

- For gum health, look for toothpastes with antibacterial agents like triclosan or stannous fluoride.

- For whitening, choose a toothpaste with abrasives or chemicals like hydrogen peroxide.

3. Check the active ingredients:

- Fluoride is an essential ingredient, with adult toothpastes containing 1,000-1,500 ppm.

- Other beneficial ingredients include xylitol, which can reduce plaque and cavities.

4. Look for the right amount of fluoride:

- Adult toothpastes typically have 1,000-1,500 ppm fluoride, which is the recommended level.

- Children's toothpastes have lower fluoride levels (500-550 ppm) to prevent fluorosis.

5. Choose a flavor you enjoy, as this can encourage consistent brushing. Common flavors include mint, cinnamon, and fruit.

6. Consider your age and any special dental conditions you have.
Consult your dentist for a personalized recommendation if needed.
