On August 9, Nancy and I will celebrate 24 years of working with one another—and I use the word “with” very deliberately.
Nancy has never simply worked for me. For 24 years, she has stood beside me, supported me, challenged me, kept me organized, protected our patients, and helped build The Strong Clinic into what it is today. Quite honestly, I do not know how I would function without her.
In all those years, we have had plenty of discussions—usually because we are both so passionate about what we do—but only one true major blowup. After 24 years together, I think that may be some kind of record.
Even at my age, I still look forward to going to work every day, and a very large part of that is because of the relationship Nancy and I share. We have laughed together, worried together, solved more problems than either of us could ever count, and walked through nearly a quarter of a century of life and work side by side.
Nancy is far more than my Executive Assistant. She is my right hand, my confidante, and one of my very best friends. Being able to say that is truly an honour.
Nancy, thank you for 24 extraordinary years of loyalty, friendship, dedication, patience, and partnership. The Strong Clinic would not be what it is without you—and neither would I.
