• Practice relaxation – Deep breathing, music, watching TV, or guided imagery can help ease tension.
• Bring support – A friend or family member can provide reassurance.
• Ask questions – Understanding what’s happening reduces the fear of the unknown.

• We create a calming environment – Soft lighting, music, and a welcoming atmosphere go a long way.
• We communicate clearly – Explain procedures in simple, reassuring terms.
• We offer control – Agree on a “stop signal” so patients feel empowered.

Ultimately there are sedation options as well, such as oral sedation or nitrous oxide.
