Not because your teeth need to look perfect, but because they deserve to stay healthy and comfortable.

• Keep your gums healthy, not just your teeth.

• Protect the natural teeth you have rather than waiting until they need major treatment.

Here are 5 changes worth knowing about:

• White coating: Often related to normal buildup, bacteria, food debris, or dry mouth.

• Red or smooth appearance: Can sometimes happen with irritation or certain nutritional deficiencies.

• White or red patches: If they persist instead of clearing up, they should be assessed.

• Dry tongue: Reduced saliva can leave your mouth feeling dry, sticky, or uncomfortable.

• Scalloped edges: The tongue can develop tooth-shaped edges when it presses against the teeth.

A temporary change is often nothing to worry about. A change that stays, keeps coming back, or feels unusual is worth discussing with your dentist.
