Gum recession isn’t just a cosmetic concern.

When the gum tissue recedes, the root of the tooth can become exposed, which may lead to sensitivity and leave the area more vulnerable to abrasion or cavities. For this patient, we treated the recession using donor tissue (Allograft) to avoid removing gum from the roof of the patient’s mouth, bringing his gum line back down covering the exposed root.

One thing patients often ask me is: “Does a gum graft hurt?”
Patients are often surprised by how manageable the recovery is. Many report that a Tylenol extra strength is enough to manage the discomfort, although some swelling during the first 3 days is completely normal and part of the healing process.

Gum grafting can be a very effective way to protect your teeth and improve gum health, not just the appearance of your smile.

Once a proper foundation was established following Invisalign treatment, we were able to focus on the aesthetic restoration of the patient’s smile.

Because his previous bite had caused significant wear and a fractured tooth, we restored the appearance of his anterior teeth with four resin veneers using an injection molding technique.

With this technique, a customized mould guides the resin into position, allowing me to reproduce the planned shape with precision. Once placed, we remove the excess and polish the restorations to achieve the final result.

The goal was to create a natural result restoring his smile with predictability.

This patient came to Dentique with a bite that was causing excessive wear and eventually contributed to a fractured tooth. So, before addressing the aesthetics, we needed to correct the way his teeth were coming together, so we wouldn’t face the same problems of fractured tooth over and over again.

We used Invisalign to properly align his teeth and improve his bite, creating a healthier foundation to restore his broken tooth.

This is why we don’t view Invisalign merely as cosmetic. Function is just as important as it looks!

Sometimes, replacing a tooth starts with moving the teeth you already have.

This patient had a retained baby tooth that was affecting the space and position of his teeth. We first used Invisalign to improve his bite and properly prepare the space.

After the baby tooth was removed, we placed a Maryland Bridge to restore the missing tooth without having to damage the neighbouring teeth. The bridge is attached using a small wing behind the teeth, making it a conservative way to improve both function and appearance.

This isn’t his final step. He plans to have an implant in the future, but for now, the Maryland Bridge gives him a functional and aesthetic solution while preserving the surrounding teeth.

Every treatment plan should consider not only where you are today, but where you want your oral health to be in the future.

Some smiles need more than a cosmetic fix.

Glenda was bothered by two small, conoid-shaped teeth and the spaces they created when she smiled.

Instead of going straight to veneers, we first used Invisalign to properly position the teeth and create the right foundation for the final result.

This allowed us to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible before placing two porcelain veneers.

The result? A more balanced, natural-looking smile with a conservative approach to her teeth.
