Some edge-bonding to fix some uneven edges of the upper front teeth. This appointment took 30 minutes and required NO freezing or drilling of the natural tooth! It’s amazing how small changes can make a huge difference ✨.

🌟FREE VIRTUAL CONSULTS🌟
I’ve been getting some DMs and emails from people regarding dental treatment - a lot of people asking about invisalign and veneers! I thought it’d be a good idea to offer free virtual consults during this crazy time. I’ll be able to do a virtual assessment but ultimately final treatment decisions would need to be done in person. However I can give you a good idea of your options and what can be done to improve your smile! Let’s see how this goes 😂

A close-up of the previous case 🔎. The patient requested a natural look, which was achieved by:

1. Bone sounding and gum surgery to lengthen crowns
2. Minimal guided preparation
3. Final e.max ZirCAD crowns to help restore these worn and discoloured lower teeth

I’ve had a blast so far for my first of three face-to-face components in London for my Master’s in Aesthetic Dentistry 🦷. My small cohort is filled with young, world class clinicians from all over the world who are looking to take their dentistry to the next level. King’s College London is world-renowned for its dentistry and provides the highest quality education in Aesthetic Dentistry anywhere. I’m excited to get back into my clinic and put what I’ve learned to work. This Master’s has been truly eye-opening and will undoubtedly change the way I see dentistry forever 🙏🏻.

One of my favourite cases to date 🤙🏻. This patient had always wanted to something with his lower front teeth and he finally made the decision to do so.
His teeth were short, worn down and discoloured. We addressed all these issues with a new set of splinted e.max ZirCAD crowns. The choice to splint the crowns was for the following reasons:
0. Patient didn’t want implants
1. Moderate but stable bone loss
2. Patient didn’t want chicklet teeth. If we did individual crowns the path of insertion would limit any imperfections we decided to add.
The teeth were very minimally prepped as they were already fairly worn. Additionally I performed a gingivectomy after bone sounding to increase the length of the crowns. Overall the patient was very happy with the result and again my lab guy pulled through 🙏🏻!

More e.max goodness 😋! e.max layered zirconia crowns on the two front teeth with added hints of fluorosis and translucency 🖌. Also note that the gumline was also re-contoured to aid in a better aesthetic result.
See previous post for more details of the case 👊🏻.

This is why having a lab literally with you every step of the way is a huge advantage, especially with aesthetic cases 🙏🏻.
This patient came to see me to have their front two teeth restored 🦷. They both had a history of trauma, subsequent root canal and large multi-surface fillings. Over time the fillings discoloured and trapped plaque as seen in the before image. The goal was to try and get his teeth looking like they did before the accident.
Ivoclar IPS e.max layered zirconia crowns were used to get a great aesthetic result for this patient.
I really have to give it to my lab guy for getting the shade bang on 👏🏻. Small flecks or fluorosis were even used to mimic his adjacent teeth.

Sometimes dentistry isn’t all sunshine and rainbows 🌈.
Just some bread and butter anterior dentistry for an emergency patient who wanted to just restore his left central incisor with composite. As much as I’d love to restore the neighbouring teeth, that will have to wait another day 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Shades used were 3M supreme xte A4 and A3 on the edges.

SHADE CASE 🎨 One of my favourite cases to date, which I have posted about before 🤷🏻‍♂️. The difficulty in this case was masking the discolouration without any bleaching as the teeth were still vital.
After A LOT of teamwork with my lab across the hall, we ended up placing emax lithium disilicate veneers on the central incisors and using a opaque veneer cement to get the shade just right 🙌🏻. A lot of photos were also taken to assess shade along the way.
Those who use shade mapping software, is it worth it? And do you feel it works significantly better than traditional methods?

First post of 2020 🎉! This emergency came in just before the New Year and happened to be one of my buddies who is currently a dental student.
Apparently he was in Thailand and got knocked off his scooter 🏍. He suffered some gnarly injuries to both his face and arm. The dentists in Thailand patched up the left central incisor with some composite as it had a large pulp exposure and was broken down to the gingiva.
After testing all the teeth it was determined that both central incisors had irreversible pulpitis secondary to the trauma 💥. Root canals were performed on both of the centrals. The left lateral had a mesial chip but was otherwise asymptomatic.
Eventually both centrals will require crowns but in the meantime I attempted to test my composite skills (a skill in which I am wanting to improve) on his centrals and left lateral. The teeth were made a bit shorter to avoid fracture before he comes in for the final crowns.
