Are your teeth starting to look see-through? 👇
Your enamel isn’t actually getting “weaker.” It’s getting thinner. And once it’s gone, your body cannot regenerate it.
(Before we expose the real cause, hit that follow button so you don't miss out on more tips to protect your teeth! 🦷)
Those translucent, clear edges on your front teeth are a warning sign. You’re literally seeing right through the tooth because the protective enamel layer at the biting edge has worn down to almost nothing. Because there’s no dentin (the yellow inner layer of your tooth) behind that edge to block the light, it goes straight through.
This isn't just a cosmetic flaw, it’s a major structural warning sign. ⚠️
🚫 The Real Culprit (It's Not Sugar)
The cause is almost always acid erosion. And it’s likely coming from things you think are healthy:
Lemon water 🍋
Sparkling water / Kombucha 🫧
Pre-workout drinks ⚡
Wine or citrus fruits 🍷
Silent acid reflux you might not even feel.
🛑 The "Healthy" Habit Making It Worse
Acid softens your enamel for about 30 minutes after you consume it. If you brush your teeth immediately after having any of the above, you are literally scrubbing away your softened enamel and accelerating the damage.
💡 What to Do Instead:
1️⃣ Use a straw for acidic drinks to bypass your front teeth.
2️⃣ Chug, don't sip. Finish it in one sitting rather than sipping it over an hour.
3️⃣ Rinse with water right after, and wait at least 30 minutes before brushing.
4️⃣ See your dentist. If you are noticing these signs, get a professional check-up before the damage progresses. You can easily book an appointment with us in under 5 minutes using the link in our bio! 🔗🦷
